THE BRONX - The New York Rangers have taken a 2-1 series lead after a triple overtime nail biter against the Capitals.

The team was in Washington for the Eastern Conference semifinals and was about five minutes shy of heading into a fourth overtime.

The Rangers ended it after Brad Richards set up Marian Gaborik for the final goal.
