Rapist sought in 2 Bronx attacks 10 years apart

NEW YORK - (AP) - The New York Police Department is seeking asuspect in two rapes in the Bronx a decade apart.

The first rape occurred on Aug. 16, 2000 and the second on Nov.4, 2010. Both victims were 21-year-old women. Both were approachedby a man who pulled a gun on them and then raped them.

Both women were treated at local hospitals. No arrest was evermade in the first case.

Police said Thursday that DNA evidence linked the two attacks.They released a sketch of the rapist and a surveillance photo ofthe white Nissan Pathfinder where the second victim was raped.
