Rate of sexually transmitted infections rises in The Bronx

THE BRONX - Sexually transmitted infections (STI) are on the rise in The Bronx, according to the Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health.

According to the group's study, The Bronx also has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation, more than 30 percent higher than the rest of the country.

And the rates for STI's are no better, with the rate for diseases such as Chlamydia among 15- to 19-year-old girls at 40 percent higher than the city average and double the national rate.
