THE BRONX - St. Patrick's Day is only a month away, and News 12's Natasha Geigel visited a Bronx dance school to learn the art of Irish step dancing.

Colleen Quigley-Carey, who's been step dancing since she was 5 years old, is an instructor at the Inishfree School of Irish Dance, and she showed Geigel some steps.

She says step dancing is a great workout that not only improves flexibility, but is a great workout for the core and legs. She adds that it’s a fun way to learn more about Irish culture.

Quigley-Carey says most of the movements with Irish step dancing can burn up to 1,000 calories, depending on the intensity.
