HUNTS POINT - A Bronx pastor is hoping to purchase the site of a shuttered strip club in Hunts Point and turn it into a church.

Platinum Pleasures, located on Lafayette Avenue in Hunts Point, closed after losing its liquor license following a number of shootings. Pastor Reggie Stutzman, of Real Life Church, says he wants to buy the building as a place to house his church. His 70 parishioners currently attend service at the Hunts Point Rec Center.

"Why not put it to good use? Why not use it as a place where the community can see something positive?" asked Stutzman. He says he hopes to raise enough funds to take over the lease.

The current owner of the lease is the former owner of Platinum Pleasures. He still owns the lease for at least another 5 years, but says he's open to the possibility of handing it over to Stutzman if they can figure out financing.
