NEW YORK - It?s been rough for the housing market this year.

New figures show more Americans lost their homes this summer than in any other 3-month stretch since 2006. According to private company Realty Trac, nearly 3,000 properties were foreclosed this summer.

The company estimates more than 1 million homes will be seized by the end of 2010.
