CASTLE HILL - Renovation work has begun on the Pelham 6 subway line, leaving two Bronx subway stations closed for the next seven months.

Both the Castle Hill Avenue and Middletown Road stations closed yesterday.

The closures mark the beginning of the $190 million renewal project. The renovations will install new lighting, better platforms and enhanced safety features.

Commuters say the closures will make getting to work and school more difficult, but many say they are relieved the MTA is doing something about fixing the stations.
