THE BRONX - Rep. Andy King surprised two schools in his district by handing over funds to help update their facilities.

P.S. 153 and P.S. 111 were awarded funds on Monday.

The schools are part of a larger group that King will allocate nearly $5 million to from his capital funding budget.

The money going to P.S. 111 and P.S. 153 schools will help fund a gymnasium for students and a functional, updated auditorium.

King plans to surprise a few other schools in this 12th District for the 2016 fiscal school year.
