PELHAM BAY - The Fenton Lounge, an Airbnb rental location, has reportedly reopened after closing down this past winter because of 911 calls and parties.

Community members say the location is a problem on Fenton Avenue.

After the spot closed down over the winter, it led to an investigation by Sen. Jeff Klein and senators from Brooklyn and Manhattan into Airbnb listings like The Fenton Lounge.

The senator’s investigation led to the discovery that The Fenton Lounge was renting again. This time, there have not been 911 calls or parties but instead concerns over building and fire code violations.

Klein is calling for the governor to sign off on legislation to police Airbnb better, make sure rentals aren’t in violation and make sure private homes are under the same laws as multifamily dwellings.
