THE BRONX - A new report shows an increase in food assistance requests.

Part of the Solution Pantry and the New York City Coalition Against Hunger released a report saying the agencies have been feeding more people over the last year. Requests for food assistance from the coalition are up 36 percent for October compared to the same month last year.

Residents say they are feeling the pinch of cuts made a month ago to the food stamp program.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo was at the pantry on Webster Avenue Wednesday serving food to residents. POTS is stocked for the Thanksgiving holiday and also serves hot meals every day.
