NEW YORK - Time is money and for New York City commuters, wasted time in traffic is costing them big time.

According to an annual study from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, clogged roads cost Americans $121 billion in time and fuel in 2011. The report also found that travelers spent 5.1 billion hours sitting in traffic during the same year.

New York is among the top congested cities, along with Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco.
