THE BRONX - A woman says she has been living in a damaged apartment for two years, and despite countless complaints, NYCHA has not come to fix the problem.

Jajaira Brea says her Washington Avenue apartment's bathroom is destroyed, the ceiling is crumbling and there is mold. She says the hallway is also damaged with holes in the walls.

Brea says the issues have her concerned about her children's health.

"They get upper-respiratory infections, they get colds a lot, and I worry for my kids' health because what if my kids get lead poisoning? Then what's gonna happen?" she says.

NYCHA told News 12 that they are still working to resolve the issues.
