THE BRONX - Residents flocked to Orchard Beach on Thursday to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Beach goers packed their cars with food, drinks and music and arrived early to stake out the best spots. Many said they couldn't ask for a better day after dealing with the recent rainy weather.

While they relaxed, visitors told News 12 they also reflected on the significance of the holiday.

"For me, it means honoring those who fought for our country and being able to sit here," said one resident.
