Residents brave heat for Bronx Dominican Parade

GRAND CONCOURSE - Hundreds gathered along the Grand Concourse over the weekend for the Bronx Dominican Parade.

Despite the heat, residents enjoyed the sites and sounds of the parade, dancing to the music. Groups representing the local carnivals sported traditional costumes to bring an authentic taste of the Dominican Republic to the Bronx.

Those who attended say the parade is a great way for the Bronx to display its cultural diversity and boost the economy. The annual parade is the culmination of a yearlong effort to promote Dominican culture in the borough.
