THE BRONX - Residents throughout Baychester and Eastchester say unclaimed lots and side streets are being littered with garbage and other debris, and they want the city to do something about.

News 12 The Bronx investigated and found numerous lots that lay abandoned and filled with garbage.

Residents want the blight of the garbage removed and the owners fined.

As for the streets like Harpers Avenue, residents say it is the Department of Sanitation's responsibility to keep it clean since it is a city street.

Sanitation officials say they are looking into the matter and will find out who owns the lots, as well as determine if the city is truly the owner of Harper Avenue.
