CO-OP CITY - RiverBay Corporation and the Local32BJ union have still not reached an agreement, prompting residents to say maintenance in Co-op City is being neglected.

Residents say they have been forced to dump their garbage in front of their buildings and with the warm weather, the smell is already becoming an issue.

RiverBay says the Department of Health has to declare a health emergency before sanitation workers can cross picket lines.

Union members say as long as RiverBay Corporation includes a four-year wage freeze in its contract, they will not sign it.

RiverBay says it offered the union a 2.33-percent increase every year and that the union is misinformed.
