Residents demand action as cops probe elderly attacks

THE BRONX - Residents are demanding action as police continue searching for a robbery suspect who has been targeting elderly women in Bedford Park.

Authorities say one of the attacks was caught on surveillance tape inside the entryway at 2921 Briggs Ave., which shows a tenant who doesn't stop to help during the attack.

Residents in the Bedford Park and Fordham communities say they are frightened that the brazen suspect has struck at least six people in buildings along Briggs, Bainbridge and Crotona avenues. They say they're also shocked and angry that a witness never stopped to help the victim.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
