Residents fed up with sidewalk sinkhole on Tiebout Ave.

THE BRONX - Residents on Tiebout Avenue say they are sick and tired of dealing with a dangerous and unsightly sinkhole in the middle of a sidewalk.

Neighbors say the sinkhole is masked by the weeds growing out of it and are worried that with kids playing nearby, someone may get injured. They say they have roped off the sinkhole with caution tape, but fear that may not be enough.

Community members have tried to get the city to fix the hole, but the city has said that it is the responsibility of the property owner. However, there is no building in front of the sidewalk, making the question of ownership far more confusing.

Residents say that they hope someone takes responsibility and fixes the hole before someone gets injured.
