THE BRONX - Residents in Norwood are fighting to stop the city's Department of Parks and Recreation from cutting down more trees in the area.

Neighbors say Mosholu Parkway used to be lined with trees, but it's not bare. Residents say the Parks Department has been cutting down perfectly healthy, 100-year-old trees.

The Parks Department says it has to trim and cut down trees as part of routine maintenance, but it will replace any trees that have been removed.

However, neighbors say they haven't seen any trimming or pruning of trees, just chopping.
