Volunteers do make occasional rounds to pick up some of the garbage, but their efforts are not enough, residents say. They want the MTA or the Department of Sanitation to step in and claim responsibility for the upkeep of the area.

News 12 reached out to the MTA regarding the issue, but no response was given.
