THE BRONX - Residents say the proposed closure of Goulden Avenue would be a headcahe for pedestrians and drivers.

The Department of Environmental Protection is planning a six-month partial or total closure of the thoroughfare to connect a pipeline from the Croton facility of the Jerome Park Reservoir.

Residents say closing the roadway could make it difficult for students to get to schools in the area. The DEP says it is also considering building the pipeline under an alternative route.
