THE BRONX - Residents say a leak in the tunnel at 161st Street and the Grand Concourse is a safety hazard and come winter, will create dangerous paths for both cars and pedestrians.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. says he is frustrated by the leak because the tunnel recently underwent a $32 million renovation. Diaz, Jr. says more funds will be put toward a further repair of the structure.

A spokesperson with the Department of Transportation says the DEP is stepping in to help find the source and cause of the leak.
