THE BRONX - Several Bronx residents are outraged after they say thousands of personal photos were thrown out onto the street by a Highbridge Rite Aid employee.

Residents say the photos were discarded in the front of the store near the trash pick-up on 170th Street. Shirley Jeffrey says she recognized a picture of her pregnant daughter among the discarded photos.

Many customers say it is an invasion of privacy, with names, e-mails and phone numbers listed on some of the negatives.

A spokesperson for Rite Aid says the act was a mistake and that it is company protocol to save pictures unless the customer asks to get rid of them. The pictures are then shredded, according to Rite Aid officials.

Rite Aid says it is investigating the incident.
