THE BRONX - There's a new push in the borough to rename River Avenue as Rivera Avenue after soon-to-be-retired Yankees closer Mariano Rivera.

The city council says "proposed honorees must be those who are deceased and of significant importance to New York City." This rule means the name change isn't so simple.

Bronx residents have had mixed reactions to the idea of honoring the seasoned player in this way.
