SOUNDVIEW - Crime victims, community members and religious leaders held a major stop-the-violence protest Sunday in the Bronx.

The rally is the first in a series across all five New York City boroughs and follows the shooting of 15-year-old Vada Vasquez, who was struck in the head by a stray bullet in Morrisania.

Rally participants are also calling for after-school programs to be restored and the addition of antiviolence and antidrug curriculum in schools.
