THE BRONX - Dozens of residents plan to rally outside the Van Nest post office to protest its closure.

Community leaders say the post office serves a large number of seniors in the Van Nest and Morris Park area. Those residents may be unable to travel to post offices further away.

The United States Post Office says it has to close and consolidate locations through the borough because fewer people are using paper mail.

The Van Nest location could be the third office to close in the Bronx this year.
