THE BRONX - Some Bronx residents say they slept in their cars to beat the heat inside.

Many residents were without power and were better able to sleep in the air-conditioning of their cars. Residents say their power went out on Monday and they were unable to sleep in hot bedrooms.

Approximately 1,962 Bronx residents were without power this morning. Power should be restored sometime today, according to Consolidated Edision, Inc.
