Residents: Some side roads still not plowed despite promise

Many side streets across The Bronx remained unplowed Thursday afternoon, even after Department of Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty promised all city streets would be cleared

BEDFORD PARK - Many side streets across The Bronx remained unplowed Thursday afternoon, even after Department of Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty promised all city streets would be cleared today by 7 a.m.

Some Bronx residents called the statement Doherty made yesterday a broken promise.

While some roads were plowed before the deadline, some, such as Grand Concourse and 163rd Street, were plowed significantly past the deadline.

The Department of Sanitation and Mayor Michael Bloomberg said they will be investigating the response to the blizzard. Bloomberg orders investigation of snow responseBX residents losing patience with city's delayed snow removal
