HUNTS POINT - As the temperatures continue to rise over the next couple of days, residents are trying to beat the heat.

Residents say they are doing what they can to shield themselves from the sun. Experts recommend staying indoors, if possible, and drinking a lot of fluids. They also recommend checking on the elderly and pets during the sweltering temperatures.

In addition to residents, fruit sellers on the street covered their products from the scorching sun.
