Residents unhappy with lingering snow-covered sidewalks

BRONX - Sidewalks left covered with snow since the December blizzard have some residents living near Pugsley Creek Park feeling a little neglected and unsafe.

The snowy sidewalk conditions have forced many residents to walk in the busy road that runs along the park. Another problem is that there is a school nearby, so even buses must swerve around pedestrians because of the snow-covered sidewalks.

Residents say they are doing their part to clear the sidewalks every time it snows, otherwise they know they could face fines. That's why they don't understand how the same rules don't apply to the sidewalks along the park.

The parks department says it will be investigating the situation and clearing the sidewalks.

Residents who spot uncleared sidewalks can call the city's hotline at 311 to file a complaint.
