THE BRONX - Residents are concerned following the NYPD's announcement that up to 600 officers will be reassigned throughout the boroughs to other precincts, as well as to staff the World Trade Center Command.

Many residents in Soundview are worried that the decrease in police presence may lead to a spike in crime.

"I don't think that's a good idea; the less police, the more crimes," says Ralph Tirado.

Officials say there have been 62 murders in the Bronx as compared to 55 this time last year.
