THE BRONX - Christmas may have passed, but holiday shopping is far from over.

According to published reports today, people all over the U.S. will be flocking to stores to make returns and exchanges.

Retailers are hoping to entice people that are swapping out gifts by offering deep discounts. It's a way for stores to avoid being stuck with excess inventory.

Shoppers at the Kmart on Baychester Avenue say they got up early to sift through all the discounts in peace before the crowds take over. Between exchanges, returns and others using gift cards, everyone's expecting more bang for their buck with 40-50 and 70 percent off sales.

Many people are also buying Christmas lights and decorations for next year because it's up to 70 percent off now.

To keep that momentum going, some stores will continue to slash prices through the weekend.
