THE BRONX - A Bronx resident who turned 100 years old today received some special recognition from local and national officials.

Rev. Marie Turman, founder of the Bright Temple AME Church, was honored by church members for touching so many lives and serving as a role model.

The 100-year milestone was also recognized by the borough president, two senators and President Barack Obama.
