THE BRONX - The sounds of drills and circle saws have become a mainstay along the Riverdale and Johnson avenue commercial corridors lately, as several businesses have set up shop in previously vacant spots.

The Corner Café Restaurant and Bakery has moved from its old location at 3552 Johnson Ave. to 3718 Riverdale Ave. The neighborhood is also set to get two Latin restaurants, a clothing store and several small shops.

Residents and merchants say they are delighted the area is getting a facelift. They hope more business in the borough will lead to an increase in jobs.
