THE BRONX - Riverdale residents are fighting a proposed medical facility in their neighborhood.

The proposed 11-story urgent care facility would be operated by Montefiore Medical Center and Westmed, and would be open seven days a week serving an estimated 1,000 patients each day.

Community members say they're worried that the medical center will create serious parking and traffic problems in the area. However, the developer has touted several benefits, including having different area physicians in a central location.

The building would be completed in June 2015.
