THE BRONX - Senior citizens in Riverdale are pleading for a countdown clock at an intersection that they say has become too dangerous to cross.

Councilman Oliver Koppell says his office has received several complaints over the years about the crosswalk at East 238th Street and Riverdale Avenue.

He confirms that a request for a clock has been sent to the Department of Transportation so that elderly residents know how exactly how much time they have before the light changes.

The city has already installed countdown signals at two other Riverdale intersections.
