Robert Morris hands Fordham fourth loss

(12/03/07) THE BRONX &舑; In their first-ever meeting, Fordham fell to Robert Morris 72-66 Sunday at the Rose Hill Gym.

Robert Morris coach Mike Rice is one Fordham alum who was happy with the results. Rice, a 1991 graduate, watched one of his players, Jeremy Chappell, rack up 25 points against his alma mater. That point total ties the highest for an opponent against the Rams this year.

Fordham coach Derreck Whittenberg lamented his team&舗;s lack of defense after the game.

&舠;We&舗;re just not there,&舡; said Whittenberg. &舠;&舰; Mentally, we&舗;re not thinking defense, we&舗;re not thinking team.&舡;

With the loss, Fordham falls to 3-4, while Robert Morris improved to 5-2.

The Rams&舗; next game is Wednesday, when they host Hofstra University.
