CITY ISLAND - A new proposal to add soundproofing to the gun range at Rodman's Neck could offer some relief for neighbors' ears, residents say.

Last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio pledged to dampen noise pollution around the city-owned shooting range.

But some residents are skeptical about whether the plan will make an impact on their lives.

"I'm 76," one neighbor tells News 12. "If this doesn't happen for 10 years, I will probably be deaf, and it won't matter."
