Runners race to help protect wild animals

THE BRONX - Hundreds took part in a run to help wild animals Saturday morning.

Participants gathered at the Bronx Zoo for the Run for the Wild 5K and Family Fun Run.

The run helps raise money for the Wildlife Conservation Society and the protection of wild animals.

Runners were able to choose the animals they wanted to run on behalf of.

Some animals were also at the race's finish line for runners to take photos with.
