THE BRONX - A number of Pelham Bay businesses are now a part of the Safe Haven program.

Participating stores have put up signs in their windows indicating that they are a Safe Haven designation, meaning any child who feels unsafe for any reason can step inside and know that someone there will help them.

It was organized by the Pelham Bay Merchants Association, which says that it's advertising the program at area schools so kids will know about the option.
