THE BRONX - As New York State's same-sex marriage law goes into effect this Sunday and Bronx couples gear up for the big day, opponents of the law say they are also gearing up for a big protest outside of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D-N.Y.) Manhattan office.
State Sen. Rev. Ruben Diaz, Sr. (D-Bronx) says he is rallying his fellow ministers against same-sex marriage in order to send a message to Cuomo about their opposition to the new law.
Bronx Pastor Ismael Feliciano says his entire church is planning on attending the protest.
Diaz says he believes that New Yorkers should have the right to vote on the issue, but admits that is a huge uphill battle that would need legislative approval.
