MONROE, Conn. - Students returned to school today for the first time since the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

The kids are attending classes at a refurbished school in neighboring Monroe. The original school where 20 children and six staff members were killed in December remains a closed crime scene.

Students and their families already attended an open house at the new school where they received gift boxes, cards and were reunited with teachers.
