Sanitation crews clear out Bronx snow

THE BRONX - More than 2,000 sanitation workers were at work clearing out busy streets and neighborhoods in the Bronx Wednesday during the storm.

Approximately 219 plows and 86 salt spreaders were on the roads, according to Bernard Sullivan, the Department of Sanitation's first commissioner. Crews generally clear out the busiest roads first and then side streets

The blizzard warning was issued until 6 a.m. Thursday.
