THE BRONX - Sanitation officials and community leaders are trying to crack down on poop scoop failures in The Bronx.

The Department of Sanitation's Community Affairs held a meeting the Pelham Parkway Community Association to address a dog waste problem, which many say is out of hand. Sanitation officials will also meet with the Bronx Park East Association on Thursday.

Bronx pet owners received the most summonses of all the boroughs in 2012 for failing to pick up after their pets. Those who are caught in the act will receive a $250 fine.
