THE BRONX - A young Bronx woman is hoping to represent all Latinos in next month's parade for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Saribel Rodriguez first spoke with News 12 over the summer after undergoing a series of operations to repair a cleft lip and palate, and then going on to compete in beauty pageants.

The 21-year-old is now vying to be queen of the annual Hispanic Day Parade, representing Puerto Rico.

Rodriguez also plans to try out for the Miss New York competition in January.
