'Schmutz' report finds filth in city trains

A new report from the Straphangers Campaign finds that the cleanliness of Bronx subway lines is deteriorating. In its yearly "Schmutz" report, the group says

THE BRONX - A new report from the Straphangers Campaign finds that the cleanliness of Bronx subway lines is deteriorating.

In its yearly "Schmutz" report, the group says that in 2009, 65 percent of No. 6 train cars were clean. But last year, the number dropped to only 44 percent.

The Straphangers Campaign saw car cleanliness go down from 61 percent in 2009 to 37 percent last year.
