Search for man who tried to kidnap teen girl in the Bronx

THE BRONX - Police are searching for a man they say tried to abduct 16-year-old girl while she was waiting for the bus.

It happened Saturday at the Bx36 stop on Randall and Olmsted avenues. Cops say the teen was waiting at the bus stop at 7:30 a.m. when the suspect tried to force her into his van.

According to police, the girl fought him off and ran away. The suspect then drove eastbound on Randall Avenue toward Castle Hill.

Police are looking for a Hispanic man, about 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a dark blue Yankees hat.
