THE BRONX - Once a runway and teenage mother, a Bronx woman is sharing her story with others of how she turned her life around and became a successful businesswoman.

Serena Urenna says by the age of 14, she had been arrested and had run away from home several times. By the time she was 15, she was pregnant and realized she was going to get herself thrown in jail or killed.

Urenna says that when she was 19 years old, she met a woman who helped her find faith and turn her life around. She is now the owner of Pearl Gates, planning birthday parties and weddings for young women.

Urenna says she has plans to expand her business and is currently training other young women to be successful party planners.
