Security cameras requested for Lydig Avenue

THE BRONX - Community leaders and police in the 49th Precinct are taking more action to stop crime near Lydig Avenue by requesting security cameras.

Police say while Lydig Avenue is not a hotspot for major crimes, drug dealing is rampant in the area.

State Sen. Jeff Klein's office says it is looking into making the idea a reality after he said that recently installed cameras in Van Nest Park were good crime deterrents.
