NEW YORK - State Sen. Chuck Schumer is choosing to stay silent on the city's mayoral race.

The former mentor to Anthony Weiner has refused to say whether he'll throw his support behind the ex-congressman, who announced last week that he was running.

Weiner worked in Schumer's office for years when the senator was a congressman.
